Things are hotting up at the Nelson Community Arts Centre as it prepares for the grand opening of its new home the Artery, and its inaugural Fringe Festival.
Dates to note include September 9 when New York based noise grindcore exponents Brutal Truth play at the Artery as part of a Southern Hemisphere tour. They play with local support from Daemon at 7.30.
Expect a blast on September 18, when Christchurch bands Salmonella Dub and the Hi Tone Destroyers, plus Auckland act Fist, open the Fringe Festival. They will be joined by local entertainers and DJs in an alien invasion Intergalactic Ball.
September 25 marks the official opening of The Artery, home of the Nelson Community Arts Centre. Formalities will be carried out by the mayor on the afternoon of the Montana New Zealand Wearable Art Awards, and followed by a Hyper Dance Party staged by the Gathering Crew.
