Gathering under money cloud

Tasman's annual New Year's dance party, the Gathering, is teetering on the brink of bankruptcy, chief executive Murray Kingi says.
An unnamed group has applied to have the Gathering put into liquidation, he said.
"I am in the process of trying to fight that, but it is not looking very hopeful," he said.
The Gathering's fate was expected to be known by the end of the week.
Mr Kingi, sole director of the Gathering Company Ltd, said he either had to talk the group out of its application or find some money.
The company owed more than $400,000, but was owed about $700,000 from previous events. Low attendance at last New Year's party had hurt the company. --NZPA
