Gathering in strife

The Gathering, Golden Bay's New Year dance party, is close to being wound up. Organiser Murray Kingi said the event had debts totalling $400,000 but people owed money from the last two Gatherings could still be paid if the event itself was paid the money it was owed. If those funds did not eventuate the Gathering was only weeks away from receivership, he said.
