Alpine Unity will again have something for everyone this New Year's Eve.

With the Gathering not happening, Alpine Unity will undoubtedly be the biggest outdoor dance event on offer at the festive season. The party runs from December 31 to January 2 and is again being held at Flock Hill Station in the Canterbury foothills.

There are five zones -- house/progressive/ breaks, hip-hop/ downbeat/ambient, hard-dance, drum'and'bass, and the main stage which will cover all genres with the emphasis on live acts.

Acts in the main stage include superstar German DJ Timo Mass, former Christchurch, now Melbourne-based live drum'n'bass crew Shapeshifter, Wellington dub/reggae exponents The Black Seeds, Fat Freddy's Drop, Roots Foundation, and Pitch Black.

Other New Zealand acts performing include Minuit, Dubwize, Concord Dawn, Epsilon Blue, the Kog Transmissions Soundsystem, Rhian Sheehan, O. G., Solaa, Otautahi Allstars, and the Nomad.

Other big international acts coming include Miami-based house DJ Austin Leeds, UK hard-dance leader Daniel Ro, and, in the drum'n'bass zone, John B, Canada's Capital J, and DJ Clipz.
