Mid-life crisis blamed
A "mid-life crisis" led a 50-year-old Motueka man into drug offending, resulting in a four-year prison sentence for supplying and offering to supply LSD. Soul Cei Love earlier admitted supplying the class A drug to a woman over a two-year period. He also admitted charges of supplying and offering to supply the same drug. Counsel Anne Stevens told Justice Hansen in the High Court at Dunedin yesterday that Love had no previous drug convictions and had not been a drug user until recently. The break-up of his 25-year marriage not long before he turned 50 led him to seek solace at dance parties, university orientation functions and "raves" such as The Gathering, where he first became involved with LSD.
